REBUILD is a project of RWC Atelier & Co.

AN INITIATIVE DECADES IN THE MAKING.

The idea of rebuilding is as old as human history. From the rebuilding of the Pantheon under Hadrian, the Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem, or the Shinto temples of Japan, we have always been moved to rebuild and renew important lost or destroyed parts of our architectural heritage.

REBUILD is the banner under which Richard Cameron and RWC Atelier and Co have worked to propose the contemporary rebuilding of the destroyed Pennsylvania Station, Madison Square Garden, Madison Square Church, and now the Hotel Pennsylvania in New York City.

Each of these projects is inspired by the incredible success of the rebuilding of Dresden, Christ the Savior Cathedral of Moscow, and the Royal Palace in Berlin, among other recent projects around the world.

Beginning with his undergraduate thesis project at the University of Toronto to rebuild the Tuileries Palace at the Louvre, each of these projects has been conceived as standing in the long line of rebuilding projects carried on by others, as a way of inspiring us to build as beautifully and meaningfully as we once did.
